In the Windows Mail menu, click: Tools: Accounts

In the Internet Accounts window that pops up, select the Mail account you want change, then click the Properties button on the right side:

In the account properties window that pops up, click the Advanced tab, then uncheck the boxes that say This server requires a secure connection (SSL):

Then click the OK button to exit the account settings window.
That's it for stopping Windows Live Mail from using encrypted data connections.

In the account properties window that pops up (see below), click the Servers tab, change the Incoming mail (POP) and/or Outgoing mail (SMTP) server names to 127.0.0.1.

Now click the Advanced tab, then uncheck the boxes that say This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
Then change the Server Port Numbers for either or both the incoming and outgoing, as the case may be. Outgoing mail (SMTP) to 5400, and/or Incoming mail (POP) to 5300:

Then click the OK button to exit the account settings window.
Assuming that you already made the changes in AVG on my first webpage, then that's it, your done.
